Ovince Saint Preux will replace injured light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in the main event at UFC 197 against Jon Jones, the promotion announced on Saturday. Saint Preux will step in for Cormier in Jones comeback fight on April 23, with an interim title belt on the line. Cormier (17-1) was forced out of the fight with a lower left leg injury. Ovince Saint Preux will face Jon Jones for the interim light heavyweight title Jones previously defeated Cormier via decision in January 2015, but Cormier won the vacant UFC 205-pound belt four months later after the UFC suspended Jones for legal troubles stemming from a car accident in Albuquerque.Jones was reinstated by the UFC last October. He defended the light heavyweight title eight times before his suspension, establishing himself as the top pound-for-pound fighter in MMA. Jon Jones (L) celebrates after defeating Daniel Comier (R) during their light heavyweight title fight The 28-year-old Jones took to social media early on Saturday to state his willingness to fight a replacement opponent at either light heavyweight or heavyweight.Hey, you all know Im not into taking last-minute fights, its not the way me and my trainers do things, said Jones in a post on Instagram. But this last years been real crazy and I feel like I owe my fans so much.UFC, whether youve got a heavyweight, light heavyweight - doesnt matter. Lets keep this main event going. Send em my way. That marks a change in approach for Jones who famously forced UFC 151 to be cancelled in August 2012 when he refused to fight Chael Sonnen on eight days notice after his scheduled opponent Dan Henderson was forced to pull out of their title fight due to injury. At the time, Dana White said: This is probably one of my all-time lows as being president of UFC.The fight against Jones represents a huge opportunity for Saint Preux, who is the UFCs number six ranked light heavyweight contender, but one of only two men among the top eight that Jones has yet to beat. Anthony Johnson is not fit to fight at UFC 197 The other is number two ranked contender Anthony Rumble Johnson, who Jones was scheduled to defend his title against at UFC 187 in May 2015 before he was suspended by the UFC.Johnson appeared to be the natural choice to step in for Cormier but he underwent a dental procedure last week which ruled him out, according to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com. The doping deception continued through to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.THE SCALEMore than 1,231 samples reported by a Moscow laboratory to the sports ministry as containing a prohibited substance were recorded as negative tests on the WADA database or never reported at all.And at least 246 athletes were knowingly participating in the manipulation of results, according to McLaren. At the London Olympics, 15 Russian medal winners were identified as being part of a deception, and 10 have already been stripped of their medals.THE METHODSGrigory Rodchenkov, the head of Moscows anti-doping laboratory, was leading a double life. In public, Rodchenkov was being acclaimed for his work detecting steroids while secretly developing a cocktail of drugs with a very short detection window ahead of the London Olympics, McLaren reported. Still, retesting of samples from the 2008 and 2012 games has caught dozens of Russians whose samples still contained older substances.ddddddddddddRodchenkov has previously informed McLaren that urine samples for Russian athletes at the 2014 Games were swapped out for clean samples through a mouse hole in the wall at a laboratory in Sochi. Late-night bottle tampering was conducted by FSB agents, leaving no sign of scratches or marks to untrained eyes. Expert testimony details how thin strips of medal could be used to push up a ring around the bottles neck, and photographs show what are claimed to be telltale scratches left by the process. The Russians kept supplies of urine when athletes were not doping. So when they did cheat, those supplies could be used to replace the dirty A samples. The A samples would be diluted with salt or even Nescafe coffee granules to match the gravity and appearance of dirty B samples.Evidence of tampering emerged when samples showed salt levels above and below levels that were physiologically possible in healthy humans. And DNA analysis showed that athletes samples even contained urine from opposite sexes.THE GUILTYThere are hundreds of pages of emails allegedly between Rodchenkov and state officials listing athletes who have tested positive, and discussing whether to save them from punishment or quarantine them and let disciplinary processes take their course. However, almost all of the athletes names are redacted so as not to prejudice their privacy or future disciplinary proceedings.RUSSIAN REACTIONVitaly Smirnov, the veteran Olympic official appointed by President Vladimir Putin to oversee Russias doping reforms, and the sports ministry issued denials that Russia ran a state-sponsored doping system.
