Sacramento Kings guard Ty Lawson will have to meet with team officials to explain himself after missing the Kings recent flight to Kentucky for an exhibition game, according to league sources.Sources told ESPN.com that Lawson was late to a Kings shootaround in Las Vegas earlier this week, then missed the teams trip east before Saturday nights Sacramento/Washington preseason game at the University of Kentuckys Rupp Arena, which represented a homecoming of sorts for Kings star DeMarcus Cousins and Wizards counterpart John Wall. The Kings attributed Lawsons absence from the lineup in Lexington to personal reasons. He has since returned to Sacramento, sources said, and faces an uncertain future with his new team after the weeks events.Lawsons agent, Happy Walters, couldnt be immediately reached Sunday.Knowing it would be forced to start the season without the suspended Darren Collison, Sacramento signed Lawson on Aug. 31 to a one-year minimum deal that was non-guaranteed, hopeful that the former Denver Nuggets fixture would seize the opportunity to resurrect his career and fill a void in their backcourt. But Collison was ultimately suspended for just the first eight games of the regular season after a misdemeanor conviction for domestic assault. The Kings signed Lawson only after considerable internal deliberation after the veteran guards history of legal woes, so it remains to be seen how much patience theyll show.Sacramento also recently signed veteran point guard Jordan Farmar, who played in Memphis last season under new Kings coach Dave Joerger, to help them cope with Collisons absence. The Kings have been publicly optimistic about Lawsons ability to contribute for much of training camp, with Joerger praising Lawsons defense in a recent exhibition outing against Golden States Stephen Curry and saying: He has good leadership qualities. You can tell why hes been a winner.Lawson, 28, has been arrested four times for driving under the influence -- twice in a seven-month span in 2015. He didnt last a full season with the Houston Rockets in 2015-16 before his March release; he finished last season with the Indiana Pacers.Through his first six seasons, Lawson was a key member of the Nuggets, earning a contract extension in 2013 that was $4 million richer than Currys four-year, $44 million deal that expires after this season. In a July interview with The Undefeateds Marc J. Spears, Lawson said: It would be big to be back to my old self again. Also, its not for just me, its for my parents. They have had a hard time seeing what Ive been going through. I know they hear the little comments at NBA games. To make them proud again would mean the world to me.Nike Air Max Tn Damen Günstig .2 billion agreement with Rogers Communications for the leagues broadcast and multimedia rights. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because the deals cannot be signed until July 7.Afflalo averaged 12.8 points and shot 38 percent on 3-pointers for the New York Knicks last season, his ninth in the NBA.He brings strong leadership and a focus on defense to a team that has lacked both in recent seasons. Afflalo isnt quite the elite defender he was earlier in his career, but he brings that mindset to a team that gave up points by the bucket load last season under George Karl. After years of front office and coaching turnover under owner Vivek Ranadive, the Kings hope they have found a leadership team that will stay in place for the long haul. Vlade Divac is running the front office and Dave Joerger left Memphis to take over the coaching duties.ddddddddddddTheir priority has been to inject some professionalism into the roster, and surround star center DeMarcus Cousins with perimeter shooters to open things up for him near the rim.Afflalo and Tolliver both fit that mold.Tolliver has spent the past two seasons in Detroit, playing about 20 minutes a night as a reserve. He can guard multiple positions, play small forward or power forward on offense and is a career 36 percent 3-point shooter.Tolliver had extensive discussions with Washington, Toronto and Minnesota before ultimately coming to an agreement with Sacramento.Tolliver played for the Timberwolves in 2010-11 and 2011-12 and was intrigued by the possibility of returning, but chose the Kings instead. Both deals have only partial guarantees in the second seasons, offering the Kings some important flexibility going into next summer when an even better crop of free agents is expected to hit the market.
