EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- For those who thought Eli Manning was getting a little tired of the weekly antics of Odell Beckham Jr. -- guess again. The New York Giants veteran quarterback said Tuesday that everything is just fine between him and the 23-year-old receiver who had a career day Sunday, catching eight passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens. In a radio interview Monday, Manning gave an answer that seemed to indicate his was tired of Beckhams antics after the wide out was flagged for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for taking off his helmet following a winning 66-yard catch and run.The extra 15 yards gave Baltimore better field position for its final drive, which reached the Giants 24-yard line.Manning insisted the tired remark referred to the media being tired of writing every week about Beckhams emotions, rants, tiffs and interactions with the kicking net on the Giants sideline after big plays.Im fine with it, said Manning, who threw for 403 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Hes doing a lot of good things and playing the game the right way. He just has to make sure the celebrations and whats going on arent hurting the team in any way.Manning said he gets asked about Beckham every time he talks. He answers all the questions.Odell and I have a great relationship. We talk about a lot of things, Manning said. Were on the same page. He knows that Im always looking out for him and understands that you can say things that can get taken one way. Odell and I are on the same page. I get asked multiple questions about him every week.Beckham could face a tough opponent this week as the Giants (3-3) get ready to play the Los Angeles Rams (3-3) in London. The teams met two years ago, and the Rams tried to bully Beckham.Thats everyone, Manning said. We have to understand that we have to be smart and play football. We dont need the extracurricular activities. We just have to go out there and do our job. Keep it about football. Shouldnt be that hard. All Manning wants this week is for Beckham to just play well and make plays.I want him to have celebrations and dance. Im fine with that, Manning said. I want the team to go out there and win games. Its fun. That was a fun locker room after the (Ravens) game. Exciting locker room. It should be all positive stuff. For him to go out there and have his best game, maybe of his career, 200 yards in receptions and then afterward, to be kind of a bad spin on things. You dont want that. He should be happy about that and celebrating. Not have to deal with the side drama of it.The Giants have altered their schedule to get ready for the game in England. Once they finish practice here on Thursday, most their game play will be done. That usually does not happen on road games until they travel on Saturdays.Friday and Saturday will be different, Manning said. Just get your sleep and get back to some of your studying. Should keep basically the same schedule as we have all year from a preparation standpoint.---AP NFL websites: http://pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP-NFLSean Taylor Jersey . -- Anaheim Ducks defenceman Luca Sbisa will be out at least six weeks with a torn tendon in his right hand. There are some early surprises in the race for the Hart Trophy, but two of the contenders are the leagues biggest stars over the past decade. There are many more players in contention for the awards than just the three that Ive named, and a good or bad week can easily alter the landscape, but through the first 20 or so games of the NHL season, this is how the awards races look to me. Our whole season. We just knew what we had to do.Jackson, as has been the case all season, did the most, engineering a 75-yard drive and capping it by floating a perfectly placed 29-yard touchdown pass to Jaylen Smith with 13 seconds remaining as the Cardinals survived, 32-25.It was Jacksons fourth touchdown pass and kept the Cardinals (7-1, 5-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) in the College Football Playoff picture, and couldnt have hurt the Heisman Trophy frontrunners candidacy.Virginia (2-6, 1-3) had scored with 1:57 remaining and used a 2-point conversion to take a 25-24 lead, whipping the sparse crowd at Scott Stadium into a frenzy that could only have made the task more daunting. Not for Jackson. He ran for 18 yards on the first play, hit Cole Hikutini in traffic for 5 yards on fourth-and-3, ran twice more for 16 yards before hitting Smith in the end zone with the pass over tight coverage by Juan Thornhill.I just stayed calm, Jackson said. Me being the leader of the offense, just kept a level head.So did Smith, who had just one prior reception.Once we got the ball back, I felt like we had too much time not to score a touchdown, he said.Jackson did not have one of his best days, getting sacked five times and turning the ball over twice, but still finished 24 of 41 for 361 yards. He ran 18 times for another 90 yards, and boosted his TD count to 38.His other TD tosses covered 15 yards to Jamari Staples, and 8 and 10 yards to Reggie Bonnafon. The Cavaliers had driven 75 yards in 14 plays, getting a 30-yard pass from Kurt Benkert to Keeon Johnson on fourth-and-7 to put the ball at the Cardinals 4.dddddddddddd A TD throw to Doni Dowling on the next play and then Benkerts 2-point conversion pass to Albert Reid had put the Cavaliers ahead by a point with 1:57 left.I wanted to win and I didnt want to go to overtime, first-year Cavaliers coach Bronco Mendenhall said of the decision to go for 2, adding that he wanted his team to know he had faith in them to come though. They did, but then Jackson added one more highlight to what has been a magical season. We threw our best punch, Virginia linebacker Micah Kiser said. Got to keep throwing our best punches.THE TAKEAWAYLouisville: No style points for the Cardinals, but having Jackson makes up for a lot of problems. Penalties and dropped passes were a nuisance in the first half.Virginia: Coaches never acknowledge appreciating moral victories, but in a season of change under Mendenhall, his players had to love the confidence shown in them by going for 2 in the final minutes.POLL IMPLICATIONSThe Cardinals would probably be pleased to stay where they are after needing all 60 minutes to beat a 33 1/2-point underdog, but theyd also love to see No. 12 Florida State beat No. 3 Clemson, reopening the Atlantic Division race. The Tigers hold the tiebreaker head-to-head because they beat Louisville 42-36 on Oct. 1.UP NEXT:Louisville: The Cardinals travel North for its final conference road game of the season against Boston College.Virginia: The Cavaliers go on the road for the first time in more than a month to face surprising Wake Forest.---The APs college football page: http://collegefootball.ap.org---Follow Hank on Twitter: www.twitter.com/hankkurzjr ' ' '
