Negotiations may be easier second time around and Mayweather might be tempted out of retirement by the chance to extend his record to 50-0.The decision will ultimately be Mayweathers on whether there is a rematch on May 6, 2017. Garcia, who meets Samuel Vargas in a non-title bout on Saturday, stepped up a division to capture the vacant WBC belt via a unanimous verdict against Robert Guerrero in January and has not fought since.Garcias fellow American and rival world welterweight champion Thurman has also only fought once this year. WBA title-holder Thurman unanimously out-pointed Shawn Porter in June and is not due to fight again until he faces Garcia.Garcia-Thurman promises to be a high-profile clash -- and just may catapult the winner towards an even bigger showdown with Pacquaio.Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs)Waiting in the wings if all else fails is Britains IBF world welterweight champion -- but he may not be available for May.Brook has yet to decide if he will relinquish his belt and step up a division or defend it against mandatory challenger Errol Spence next.Brook is recovering from a broken eye socket sustained in a knockout defeat to Gennady Golovkin in September and is not due to box again until the spring, which makes a welterweight fight in May with Pacquiao seem unlikely -- unless he gives up his IBF belt.Brook is also behind others in the queue to face Pacquiao, but if he remains a rival world welterweight champion then a unification clash later next year is possible.Im after the biggest and best fights out there, those are the ones that are going to get me up for it, Brook told ESPN.
